Joseph
Sellars is an associate attorney in the firm’s real estate group
and specializes in real property acquisitions and dispositions,
including residential, commercial, and mixed use properties, and
title research/due diligence. He also has experience in all
phases of planned community and condominium development,
including drafting declarations of CCRs and other HOA governing
documents, dwelling unit purchase and sale contracts, and
easements and joint use agreements for common interest community
projects. Joseph also has experience in land use and entitlement
matters (including zoning, subdivision, and other development
standards), affordable housing issues such as inclusionary
housing requirements, deed-restricted units, and land leases,
special districts, construction law, and drafting commercial and
residential leases and loan opinions. Prior to joining Davis &
Ceriani, Joseph worked as an associate attorney in the real
estate section of a Denver law firm and as an urban planning
consultant in a national land use and planning firm specializing
in the drafting of zoning and subdivision regulations. He
received his undergraduate degree in journalism from Oklahoma
State University in 1996 and his law degree and master’s in
regional/city planning from the University of Oklahoma in 2003.
Joseph is a member of the Colorado and Denver bar associations,
and the American Planning Association.
