Joseph Sellars, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, received his law degree and master’s in city planning from the University of Oklahoma before moving to Denver in 2003. Prior to joining Davis & Ceriani, P.C., he worked as an urban planning consultant and as an associate attorney in a Denver law firm.

Real Estate Practice

Mr. Sellars specializes in real property acquisitions/dispositions, financing, and development, including residential, commercial, and mixed use properties. His practice also includes entity formation and condominium and planned community organization, including drafting declarations of covenants and other homeowner association governing documents, unit purchase and sale contracts, property management agreements, and easements and joint use agreements for condominium projects.

Mr. Sellars also has experience representing public and private interests in land use and entitlement matters, including development agreements, zoning and subdivision regulations and standards, and affordable/inclusionary housing requirements and compliance. He also has experience preparing loan opinions and construction contracts.

Mr. Sellars is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Urban Land Institute and the American Planning Association.
